Gymnastic success

Each year, students participating in the gymnastics after school activity have opportunities to represent our school at both local and regional competitions. This school year, our Competitive CIS Squad, Level 2 & 3 gymnasts participated in two major gymnastics events: Sonny TY International Competition in Manila and the Christmas Show at ‘the Yard’.

The first ever Sonny Ty International Gymnastics Cup was held on 15-16 October in Manila, and the CIS Competitive Squad joined approximately 600 other gymnasts from seven countries in the region to compete. Our gymnasts competed against international school clubs from the Philippines, Jakarta, Sri Lanka and the Asian region.

Our gymnasts competed in the bars, floor, beam, and vault. CIS level 2 and 3 competitors were awarded 19 gold and one silver medals. This competition was an excellent opportunity to see other teams’ performances and improve their gymnastics skills. Our team was more motivated than ever to train after this competition.

On Sunday 11 December, 29 of our gymnasts (all girls) put on a show for Christmas at the Yard, in Jurong, where they train weekly. They performed for a full house, and many commented on how our girls had improved in just a few short months.

Great work Huskies, keep up the amazing work!
